Each year, thousands of people are injured by automobile accidents. Most accidents are avoidable and result from the negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Thomas D. Lininger is a former insurance defense attorney with an inside understanding of the insurance industry's decisionmaking process in evaluating your claim.

What To Do After An Auto Accident:

- Stop your vehicle. Call the police immediately and ensure that they complete an incident report. Do not admit fault. Be sure to tell the police officer about any injuries you might have sustained.
- Get the license plate numbers of all vehicles involved, as well as the license plate numbers of all potential witness vehicles.
- Get information from the drivers of all other vehicles involved, including: name, address, driver's license number, phone numbers, and insurance information (carrier, policy number, and contact phone number).
- Get contact information from all potential witnesses and any one else who may have been involved in the accident.
- Seek medical attention immediately, regardless of how minor or superficial your injuries may seem to be. Even if you appear to have no injury initially, you should still seek immediate medical attention (some injuries are not apparent immediately).
- Sketch the scene and how the accident occurred.
- Take photographs of the scene, of all vehicles involved, and of the damage to the vehicles.
- Take photographs of your injuries (cuts, scrapes, bruises, stitches, casts, etc.).
- Do not give any statement to the other party or their insurance company without first consulting the Law Offices of Thomas D. Lininger & Associates.
- Follow your doctor's orders.
